Announcement of the WINNERS from our 2009 Favorite Images Contest

We have been so excited about the PHOTO CONTEST that we have been running on our Facebook Fan Page.  In this contest, our Facebook Fans voted to determine their favorite images from our gallery of 2009 photos.

Thanks to everyone who voted!  We had a total of 145 votes for images from 2009!

We had a TIE for first place!  Congratulations to our two FIRST PLACE WINNING IMAGES:

FIRST PLACE:
Ansley McVey - Daughter of Chelsea McVey
This photo was taken in September when Ansley was only four days old!  We will always remember this photo shoot and were honored to be able to photograph her at only 4 days old.  Ansley and her Mom  Chelsea, are some of our regular customers.  We love working with them and have enjoyed watching Ansley grow.

Ansley is the daughter of Chelsea McVey and the grandaughter of Angie Pittman and Larry Pittman of Powder Springs.  We love this photo and apparently, so do many of you!  Congratulations to Chelsea and Ansley.....you have won a 16x20 portrait of this image.

FIRST PLACE:
Cashin Davis
This photograph of Cashin was taken this summer during her Senior Portrait photo shoot at Marietta Square.  We fell in love with Cashin during our session.  Cashin has a great personality and was lots of fun to photograph.  She has beautiful, long black hair and gorgeous eyes.

Cashin is a senior at Harrison High School and is the daughter of David and Aleisha Folsom Davis of Acworth.  Cashin was just recently accepted to the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!!) and will be attending UGA this coming fall.  Congratulations to Cashin and her parents!   You have won a 16x20 portrait of this image.

The race for first place was a close one!  We would also like to recognize NINE runner up images that received at least four or more votes.  Each of the individuals in these images have won a complimentary 8x10 of their image.

RUNNER UP IMAGES:

Kellie Church
Kellie is a senior at McEachern High School and just graduated early in December.  This photo was taken this summer in an open field near our home.  Everyone loves this field and became quite a popular photo sport with everyone, especially our high school seniors.  Kellie just fell into this position and we immediately clicked and got this image. We love the crispness and fun, clean look of this image.

Kellie will be attending Kennesaw State University in the fall.  Kellie is a beautiful red head with striking blue eyes and was a Cheerleader while at McEachern. She is the daughter of Debbie Church.  Kellie was one of our Senior High School Model reps for the 2009-2010 school year.  Kellie has won a complimentary 8x10 of this image.

Maddie Hughes
Maddie is the precious nine month old daughter of Jamie and Lloyd Hughes of Smyrna.  This photograph was taken this summer during Maddie's six month photo session at Smyrna Village.  Maddie's parents, Jamie and Lloyd love black and white photographs, so we are extra excited that our Facebook Fans chose this one as one of their favorites.

Maddie is the sweetest little girl with piercing blue eyes.  She is a participant in our "Baby's First Year" Portrait Program so we get to see and photograph her often!  Jamie and Lloyd have won a complimentary 8x10 of this image.

Taylon Sharer
Meet Taylon!  Taylon is a Senior at McEachern High School and is the beautiful daughter of Julie Deschner Sharer and Mike Sharer of Powder Springs.  Taylon is very active at school (Marching Band and a host of other clubs) and loves music (especially Coldplay).

Taylon's passion is Photography and she hopes to pursue a career in Photography.  She is in the midst of deciding on a college where she can study photography as part of her major.

This photo was done during a senior photo session with Taylon at Marietta Square.  Here blue eyes are magnificant, and this photograph brings them to life.  Taylon is as sweet and kind as she is beautiful.  We have enjoyed working with Taylon this year as one of our Senior Models for 2009-2010.  Taylon has won a complimentary 8x10 of this image.

Brittany Crider and Alex Peterson
Brittany is the 18 year old daughter of Melisa Gilbert and the grandaughter of Pat Bouldin. Brittany is an adorable and sweet Senior at Hiram High School.  She is also employed part-time at South Cobb OBGYN.

Alex Peterson is the 19 year old son of Michael Peterson and Karin O'Dowd Peterson.  Alex graduated from Hillgrove High School in 2009 and is currently employed at Dominos Pizza and is a student at Georgia Highlands.  Alex's passion is Ball Python Snakes (and Brittany, of course)!

This photo was taken in Alex's neighborhood in West Cobb County right before Christmas.  He and Brittany had photos done together to give as Christmas gifts for their families.  Alex and Brittany have been dating for awhile and are crazy about each other.  Brittany and Alex have one a complimentary 8x10 of this image.

Dezirae OzMarie Lawrence
Dezirae is a Senior at Hillgrove High School.  She is the beautiful daughter of JaKenya Lawrence of Powder Springs.  Dezirae is a super sweet girl and is super fun to be around.  Some of her favorite things in life are:  God, Family, Photography, Fashion, Photography, Music, Photography....and did I say..."Photography"?    For her Senior Project, Dezirae chose "photography" and asked Chuck to Mentor her.  Chuck had a blast working with Dezirae and we are honored that she asked us to mentor her.

Dezirae recently found out that she has been accepted to SCAD - The Savannah College of Art and Design and will be pursuing (you guessed it) a Photography Major.  Dezirae has an amazing smile.  This photograph was taken during a Senior Session with Dezirae in Virginia Highland.  We literally were driving down a busy street and spotted a bright red vintage telephone booth.  We pullled over to the side of the street, all jumped out the the car and shot a few images of Dezirae as she stood inside the booth.

We love the bright, vivid colors of this image and are excited that our fans voted is as one of their favorites!  Dezirae has won a complimentary 8x10 of this image.

Kellie Church
We love this photo of Kellie!  This is another photo that was chosen as a favorite by our Facebook Fans. This photo was taken inside of an old, vintage Chevrolet Truck that we found on the side of the road parked in an empty parking lot.

As we approached the truck, Kellie fell in love with the torn seats, rusted through floor and the whole look and feel of this antique.  It was so much fun photographing her -- and you can tell by the smile on her face that she was having a great time at this photo session.

This truck has become a very popular photo background for many of our high school seniors.  The other day, I received a text message from Kellie saying that she had just driven by the truck and that it was gone!  We have already found a replacement truck, so if anyone is interested in having vintage photos taken with an old truck, let us know!  Kellie has won a complimentary 8x10 of this image.

Maddie, Jamie and Lloyd Hughes
Here's Maddie again, but this time being lifted into the air by her mom, Jamie as her Daddy looks on in the background.  Again, our Facebook Fans voted this as one of their 2009 favorites and we can certainly see why!

This photo was done during Maddie's 6 month photo shoot in Smyrna early this past fall.  Jamie and Lloyd had just finished changing Maddie into her Christening Gown and as she lifted Maddie into the air, we shot this beautiful photo.  Just look at the love in everyone's eyes.  You can certainly tell from this photo that Jamie and Lloyd absolutely adore Maddie and she is just as crazy about them.

We love photographing this sweet family!  Jamie and Lloyd have won a complimentary 8x10 of this image.

Angela San Martin and Arnaldo San Martin's Wedding
Funny thing about this photo.....This image was shot at Piedmont Park back in October as we photographed the wedding of Angela and Arnaldo San Martin of Atlanta.

As we were waiting for the entire wedding party to gather outside for a formal portrait, I caught this young Dad and his little boy (relatives of the bride and groom) as they were running across the park to join the rest of the family for the formal portrait photo shoot.

Our Facebook Fans voted this as one of their favorites from 2009.  We love this photograph and the message it conveys of the fun that can be had as you ride on Daddy's shoulders!  Angela and Arnaldo
have won a complimentary 8x10 of this image.

Taylon Sharer
And...our final Runner Up Image is of Taylon Sharer!  This beautiful portrait was taken in the Cabbage Town area of Atlanta inside a dark, street tunnel which had been painted with graffiti.   We love the vivid colors of this photograph and the beauty that shines through Taylon's smile and in her eyes.  Her yellow shirt and plaid scarf were the perfect compliment to this urban photograph.

This area of Atlanta has become one of the hottest spots in the city for our high school Seniors.  They love the vast diversity that a senior session in Atlanta promises....from large city buildings on busy streets. to amazing graffiti walls in Little Five Points....the City is an amazing place for a photography session, offering a modern, updated, urban look and feel.
